Week 14 Football Fun Facts

Patrick INT• When new Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains brought in an entirely new playbook for the 2013 season it was expected that second year WR Kendall Wright (+9.4) would play a significant role. Wright went on to wow everyone in camp, but when he went down with a sprained knee in the second preseason game, he was held out of game action until the season opener. At that point Wright was basically the third receiver, behind Kenny Britt (-11.7) and Nate Washington (+6.5) and didn’t see much of the field. But in Week 2 Wright caught seven passes including a touchdown and didn’t look back. He has basically been operating out of the slot this season which is interesting because he was known at Baylor for his ability to catch deep passes from Robert Griffin III.

Wright’s arrow continued to point up and in Weeks 10 through 13, he averaged seven catches for 84.5 yards per game. But then came Week 14. Wright was only targeted three times, finishing with two catches for 17 yards. It was revealed on Monday that Wright was dealing with injuries to both his ankle and his shoulder. He was also dealing with Denver SCB Chris Harris, Jr. (+7.8) who held Wright to one catch for four yards when he was guarding Wright. But even with the injuries slowing him down things may return to normal in Week 15 as Wright gets to face an Arizona team that just lost a potential defensive rookie of the year award winner, for the season.

“With Washington to play in Atlanta on Sunday, the normal thinking would be to get DE Justin Tuck and his 8.5 sacks into the lineup”
