Titans GM says Adoree’ Jackson could see time on offense

  • Titans GM Jon Robinson recently mentioned that CB Adoree’ Jackson, who was drafted in the first round, might see the field on offense too.
  • Jackson played a total of 189 snaps on offense over his last two seasons at USC, including a career-high 164 in 2015.
  • As a result, his 2015 season is the best predictor of what Jackson might offer on offense. However, it’s still close to unpredictable as Jackson split his snaps on offense between lining up at wide receiver, slot receiver, halfback, fullback, and tight end. Jackson can play basically anywhere on offense.
  • While he has been used as a running back, Jackson was the most effective as a pass-catcher that excels in gaining yards after the catch. He caught all 27 passes – including 18 wide receiver screens – going his way in 2015 and was the only receiver that was targeted more than 12 times and still caught all of his targets.
  • After the catch Jackson can take advantage of the elusiveness that he showcases on special teams as well. Even though he had only 27 receptions, the former USC Trojan forced 15 missed tackles in 2015, the same amount as fellow Titans draftee Corey Davis did on 90 receptions.
  • Furthermore, the 15 tackles he broke ranked ahead of wide receivers such as Ohio State’s Michael Thomas, Baylor’s Corey Coleman and fellow teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster, while all had significantly more receptions than Jackson in that season.

I am baffled by the selection but haven’t any reason not to trust Robinson. As a track athlete, you already know his conditioning is stellar. His size gives me pause, especially with King and White still available at #18! JMHO.
