  • New York Giants running back Shane Vereen ended the 2016 campaign on IR after suffering his second torn triceps of the season. Heading into 2017, Vereen has been taking it slow at OTAs, so he can ensure that he’ll be able to contribute more to an offense that struggled in 2016. He will enter the season as backup to Paul Perkins, and will remain as the Giants best pass-catching option out of the backfield.
  • From 2013 to 2015, Vereen played more than 70 percent of his snaps in the passing game, catching 183 passes for 1592 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2013 and 2014 he earned a receiving grade of 83.0 and 81.8, ranking 10th- and eighth-best in the league, respectively. In 2013, he averaged 2.15 yards per route run, the second-highest in the league that year. His mark of 1.17 in 2014 and 1.63 in 2015 ranked seventh and eighth, respectively.
  • Vereen played just five games in 2016, and tallied just 33 rush attempts and 11 receptions. He accumulated 252 yards from scrimmage, and forced nine missed tackles. His elusive rating of 50.2 was the highest mark of all Giants running backs.
