  • At the New Orleans Saints organized team activities, RB Adrian Peterson has been focused on improving his skills as a receiver out of the backfield, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
  • The former Minnesota Vikings running back has never been known as a dominant pass-catcher, never receiving more than 55 targets or 43 receptions in a season.
  • He’s had some issues with drops throughout his career, but his hands have grown more consistent in recent years. In his last full season in 2015, he had a career-best drop rate with only one drop on 31 catchable targets.
  • That being said, Peterson also received a career-low 49.9 receiving grade in 2015, failing to make the most of the 30 receptions he did make, averaging only 1.0 yard per route run on the year.
  • Saints QB Drew Brees targeted running backs (130) more than any other quarterback in 2016, so Peterson should have plenty of opportunities to show what he can do as a receiver in his 11th season.
