Ravens still have interest in Nick Mangold

  • The Baltimore Ravens reportedly remain interested in free agent center Nick Mangold.
  • Jeremy Zuttah started at center for the Ravens last season, surrendering three sacks and 29 total pressures, second-most in the NFL.
  • Mangold didn’t allow a sack and surrendered five total pressures across eight games in an injury-shortened season.
  • Mangold isn’t the player he once was, but has surrendered only one sack over the past four seasons.2017-05-14_09-18-032017-05-14_09-26-22

While i understood the reason my Ravens traded last year’s starting Center Jeremy Zutta, it left a hugh hole at the position on the O-line. Much like 2010, when the Ravens signed former Viking Center Matt Birk after being cut for salary cap reasons. The Ravens signed Birk, who one of the main guys that lead to Baltimore beating the 49ers to win the Super Bowl. Nick Mangold has been a top 5 Center since being drafted in the 1st round by the Jets, unfortunately Mangold only played in 8 games last season because of injury. Along with ALL-PRO RG Marshal Yuanda, Mangold would be a big help to Baltimore’s young O-line. Unless Mangold isn’t healthy, or his asking price is to high. I don’t understand why Ozzie Newsome hasn’t signed Mangold, despite missing 8 games due to injury. Mangold has been a absolute stud, with such a important position on offense and the whole team. Trusting inexperienced players or young players isn’t a good idea.
