Patrick Robinson in good spot to earn starting CB role in Philly

  • Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said first-year Eagle CB Patrick Robinson will work with the first-team during OTAs this month.
  • After a solid year with the Chargers in 2015, the former first-round pick played in only seven games for the Colts last season due to various injuries.
  • Robinson regressed from a 78.4 overall grade in 2015 to a 51.1 grade in 2016, which ranked 93rd at his position.
  • In only seven games, the 29-year-old gave up three touchdowns in primary coverage and allowed 1.46 yards per coverage snaps (88th best among cornerbacks).
  • Last year, opposing quarterbacks had a 111.7 rating when targeting Robinson.
  • Sophomore Jalen Mills will assume one starting CB role for the Eagles. Robinson will face little competition for the other starting spot. Only rookies Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones (once healthy), and former Jaguar Dwayne Gratz stand in his way.
