McDermott optimistic Kouandjio is on track for training camp

  • According to Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott, tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, who is still recovering from offseason hip surgery following a fall at his home, is “on track” to being full strength by training camp.
  • Kouandjio is expected to start for the Bills at right tackle for the 2017 season having started five games at left tackle for the injured Cordy Glenn last season.
  • Kouandjio ranked 34th among 78 qualified tackles last season with a 76.7 overall grade.
  • He saw just six total offensive snaps between Weeks 4-13 but from Weeks 14-17 he logged 255 snaps while allowing just three total QB pressures in pass protection. Over that stretch Kouandjio ranked sixth out of 58 qualified offensive tackles with a 98.1 pass block efficiency rating (PBE measures pressure allowed on a per snap basis weighting towards sacks).

At least the offense looks decent on paper, If everyone can stay healthy.

    QB: Average

    RB1: Very Good

    WR1: Very Good

    WR2: Potentially Average

    WR3: Average

    TE1: Average

    LT: Good

    LG: Very Good

    C: Average

    RG: Average

    RT: Potentially Above Average

The defense is an entirely different story, full of question marks but if McDermott can somehow deliver a top 10 defense and this offense stays healthy… this team will be very good in my opinion. Thats alot of what ifs though.
