Steven Daniels did not play a single snap in Washington after tearing his labrum in training camp and landing on injured reserve for all of 2016. Daniels will now compete for a roster spot in Philadelphia.

  • Daniels was our ninth ranked linebacker prospect in the 2016 draft. His run defense grade (91.9) was tops among last year’s draft-eligible linebackers.
  • The former Boston College Eagle did not test well athletically, but excels working downhill in the running game and shedding blocks, essential behind Jim Schwartz’s aggressive front.
  • The linebacker will compete for a reserve spot on Philadelphia’s roster with fellow 2016 additions Joe Walker and Kamu Grugier-Hill, in addition to 2017 fifth-round pick Nate Gerry (converting from safety to linebacker).
  • Daniels could earn a roster spot as a base-package thumper and special teamer. His 15.3 run stop percentage ranked him fourth among linebackers during his final collegiate season.
