Offensive Deep League Gems – Week 4

349248The injury-related fantasy football tumult continued into Week 3, and it seems that nearly no roster has gone unaffected. For those fantasy GMs in deeper leagues, these injuries are a double-edged sword. On one hand, it means a new crop of talent, likely unrostered in your league, becomes perfect waiver-wire fodder. On the other, if you’ve lost someone for a few weeks or for the rest of the season in an already thin talent pool, trying to find a replacement can be a desperate search.

That’s why this week’s Deep League Gems column is about replacement-level talent without regard to the teams on bye in Week 4. Timing is everything. Avoiding stashing a player on your bench because of the bye could mean he’s not there in Week 5, when you really need him.
