Week 9 Football Fun Facts
-It was pretty obvious what the owners of the primary down the field pass catchers for the Cowboys were feeling going into Week 9. Dez Bryant owners were pretty satisfied with who they had drafted, Terrance Williams owners were happy to have found a productive wide receiver off of the waiver wire and Jason Witten owners were scratching their heads over his recent lack of production. Then Week 9 happened.
The Vikings did a pretty good job covering the outside of the field on Sunday, where the primary Dallas X and Z receivers were Williams and Bryant. Since Week 3 Williams had averaged just under 77 receiving yards a game and had scored a touchdown in each of his last four. Minnesota held him to two catches for 33 yards and kept him out of the end zone. Since Week 3 Bryant had averaged 88 yards receiving a game and had scored eight touchdowns over his last seven games. Minnesota also kept Bryant out of the end zone and held him to 64 receiving yards.
However, the Dallas receiving yards didn’t disappear, they just shifted to the middle of the field, which is where the Minnesota defense struggles to cover.
