Titans: McCourty questionable as is corner depth

PFF-headlinesTennessee Titans cornerback Jason McCourty officially practiced on a limited basis for the third straight day on Friday. McCourty is listed as questionable for the Titans’ week 3 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals. Earlier in the week he worked on the sideline with team trainers during the portion of practice open to the media.

Tennessee’s starting cornerback was forced from the team’s week 2 game against the Cowboys with a groin injury and spent the entire second half on the sideline watching his colleagues struggle to defend Dez Bryant.

McCourty had played very well in week one, giving up a passer rating of only 35.0, while grabbing two interceptions and knocking down another ball.

The Titans coaching staff will be hoping that McCourty is healthy enough to play in Cincinnati this week, especially considering Bengals’ wide receiver A.J. Green is set to play after suffering a toe injury last week.  If McCourty is ruled out, Blidi Wreh-Wilson and rookie Marqueston Huff are expect to see increased snaps this week. That should be interesting, as Huff has only played 6 snaps so far this season (after looking decent in pre-season) while Wreh-Wilson has accumulated a underwhelming -2.2 overall grade through two games.
