Believe it or not, the Dolphins and Bills square off for second place in the AFC East tonight in Buffalo. Neither team has been consistently good, reality or fantasy, but both have shown glimpses of promise.
The Bills will be without their “starting” running back in Fred Jackson due to a concussion he suffered last week against the Patriots. While he has technically been the starter, it has been CJ Spiller who has been the more explosive back, and now he has the workload all to himself. Spiller is averaging 8.5 yards per carry in games in which he has had double-digit rushing attempts, and with Jackson inactive, 10+ carries is surly in Spiller's future. While the Dolphins defense hasn't exactly been stout, they have performed well against the run. They rank in the top five in yards per carry (3.8) and rushing TD's allowed (4). The increased workload should be enough to push Spiller into the top 15 at his position this week, but I wouldn't expect him to maintain 8.5 yards per carry. He should be right around 20 touches and 100 total yards, with his status as an elite RB for week 11 relying on his ability to find the endzone (averages one TD every 23 touches).
