Linebackers form the core of any good IDP fantasy football team. Let's get right to the second-year crop and determine who will be the studs and the duds for the 2014 season.
Alec Ogletree, St. Louis
Ogletree was the second highest scoring rookie linebacker last season and now with Kiko Alonso out for the year with an ACL injury he should be the highest scoring second year ‘backer in 2014.
He may not be the prototypical linebacker in NFL terms but the undersized Georgia product is the perfect three-down weakside fantasy football linebacker. Ogletree really struggles getting off blocks but many times he doesn't even get engaged and is able to make numerous tackles downfield.
Ogletree is extremely quick laterally and has tremendous chase and tackle speed. He's also a good bet to make some big plays which can really boost scoring.
Throw in the fact that the St. Louis home stats crew gives out the most solo tackles in the league and you have a second year stud this season.
