- New Orleans Saints CB Delvin Breaux could potentially miss up to six weeks after being diagnosed with a fractured fibula. Breaux could have undergone surgery weeks ago but was misdiagnosed by the team’s orthopaedist with a simple contusion. Breaux will now miss multiple regular-season games.
- Breaux only played 296 snaps in 2016 after missing the majority of the season with a broken fibula and then an injured shoulder. In 2015 Breaux put together one of the best seasons PFF has ever seen by a rookie cornerback, earning an overall PFF grade of 85.0, ranking ninth that season.
- In that 2015 season, Breaux defended the third-most passes by a cornerback with 15 and only allowed 48.8 percent of the passes thrown his way to be caught, the fifth-best mark among cornerbacks with a minimum of 24 passes thrown at them.
