  • The Washington Redskins are expecting an improvement from second-year cornerback Kendall Fuller. When asked of Fuller, Head Coach Jay Gruden said: “I think his body is a lot better, in a lot better shape. He is quicker, he is faster, he is more confident in what we are doing out here. I said yesterday I think it was that you will see a better Kendall this year.”
  • Despite being “about 85-90 percent,” according to Gruden, Fuller played 467 snaps for the Redskins last year, 87.2 percent of which came in the slot. He finished the year with an overall grade of 51.8, and allowed a passer rating of 120.9 on all throws into his coverage, the eighth highest mark among 119 cornerbacks with at least 280 snaps. He allowed 1.78 yards per cover snap, which was well above the NFL average of 1.25.
  • Despite struggling somewhat in coverage, Fuller had a good year tackling, and his tackle efficiency (The PFF “Tackling Efficiency” number shows the number of attempted tackles per missed tackle) of 12.3 ranked 19th of 108 corners with more than 100 snaps, and he ranked third among all rookie corners.
