Tajae Sharpe recovering from foot surgery
- On Thursday, Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told the media that wide receiver Tajae Sharpe underwent surgery on his foot last week after sustaining an injury during OTAs. Mularkey added that the team expects Sharpe to be ready for training camp.
- After lighting it up during training camp and the preseason in 2016, Sharpe entered the season with high expectations. However, Sharpe finished the year with a 57.1 overall grade, ranked 95th out of 115 qualified wide receivers.
- Sharpe started the year strong, leading all Titans receivers with 25 targets and 1.38 yards per route run through Week 3. From Week 4 onward, Sharpe averaged only 28.4 receiving yards per game and saw his YPRR drop to 0.99, which ranked 87th out of 101 receivers with at least 30 targets.
- The 2016 fifth-round pick played in 74.1 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in 2016, slightly edging out Rishard Matthews (73.4 percent), for the highest snap count percentage among wide receivers.
