Raiders part ways with T Howard

  • Offensive tackle Austin Howard has announced on his Instagram account that his “time with the Oakland Raiders has come to an end.” Howard has not participated in any of the team’s on-field activities this offseason after undergoing shoulder surgery in January.
  • Howard posted a career-high PFF grade of 82.6 in 2015 and he ranked 18th out of 77 qualifying offensive tackles. Last season, Howard's grade fell to 66.9 and he ranked 52nd out of 77 tackles.
  • In 2016 Howard allowed four of the Raiders offensive line's league-low eight sacks allowed. He was rated 66th of 94 tackles in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency (pressures allowed per snap with weighting toward sacks) with 35 total pressures in 408 pass-block attempts.
