Rivers not feeling the pressure
Philip Rivers has laughed in the face of pressure this season, ranking first in PFF grade and passer rating on pressured dropbacks.
The offensive line giving their backs room
The Chargers’ offensive line has powered the running game, as they have created an average of 2.21 yards before contact per attempt, which ranks second in the league.
James is a slam dunk
Derwin James has been lights out for the Bolts, ranking third in defensive grade (83.6) among rookie defenders this season. Among all safeties, James ranks seventh.
James getting to the QB
Part of James’ success this season has been his ability to get to the quarterback. With a pass-rush grade of 86.0 and a win rate of 18.2%, James is the best pass-rushing safety in the league.
Carr: Strong when making quick throws
Derek Carr has struggled at times this season, but he’s still among the best at getting rid of the ball quickly. On throws in 2.0 seconds or less, Carr has a grade of 82.9, ranking fifth in the NFL.
Cook running efficient routes from the slot
Jared Cook has been one of the few bright spots for the Raiders this season, ranking fifth in yards per route run (2.29) among tight ends when lined up in the slot. His 77.4 overall grade also ranks fifth among tight ends.
Hurst making an impact
Maurice Hurst has an overall grade of 71.9 so far, ranking fifth among rookie defensive linemen.
Raiders defense is struggling
Oakland’s defense has struggled mightily in Jon Gruden’s return. They have the second-most missed tackles (46) and rank 28th in defensive grade (68.5).
