  • Cleveland Browns’ No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett expects to make his regular-season debut this week, according to his personal Twitter account. Garrett missed the first quarter of the season after he suffered an ankle injury in early September.
  • Garrett racked up 31 sacks, 35 hits, and 98 hurries over the last three years in college, and in his senior season, he produced 53 total pressures on 311 pass-rush snaps, for a pass-rush productivity (the PFF metric that measures pressure on a per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks) of 13.5, good for sixth among all draft-eligible edge players.
  • In the preseason, he produced seven pressures on 44 pass-rushing snaps, for a pass-rush productivity of 12.5 that ranked fourth among rookie 4-3 defensive ends with at least 40 pass-rushing snaps. He ended the preseason ranked seventh among all edge players with a PFF overall grade of 83.0.
  • Garrett’s return could be a big factor in the team’s Week 5 contest against the New York Jets. When kept clean this season, Jets quarterback Josh McCown leads the league quarterbacks with an adjusted completion percentage (the PFF metric that accounts for dropped passes, throwaways, spiked balls, batted passes, and passes where the quarterback was hit while they threw the ball to give a clear measure of accuracy) of 84.5 percent. However, when pressured, his figure falls to 71.4 percent.
