John Urschel is retiring

  • On Thursday the Baltimore Ravens announced that offensive lineman John Urschel is retiring at 26 years old. The former Penn State Nittany Lion played three seasons in the NFL, accumulating 1187 snaps at left guard, right guard, and center.
  • Urschel’s highest-graded season came in his rookie year of 2014 (78.4 overall grade) when he spent all of his time at left and right guard due to injuries. Utilizing his intellect and versatility, he played center in 2015. In 2016, back at left guard he earned a 70.4 overall grade.
  • Two of Urschel’s best games were in week 6 of 2016 against the Giants and in the divisional playoff game of 2014 against the Patriots. He earned overall grades of 83.9 and 83.4, respectively.
