Jaguars host former Chargers guard Orlando Franklin for workout
- ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that OL Orlando Franklin visited the Jaguars on Monday, a team that has needs at both starting left guard and depth positions.
- Franklin, who is just 29, has seen better days in his career than the last two seasons, despite starting 26 games for the Chargers during that stretch. His 2016 overall grade of 47.5 ranked just 66th among 72 eligible guards.
- Franklin has struggled of late as both a run blocker and in pass protection. His 2016 pass-blocking efficiency ranked near the bottom of league, as he allowed 40 total QB pressures on 527 pass-blocking snaps.
- From 2012 to 2014, Franklin earned three consecutive top-20 grades at his position, including a career-high 86.6 overall in 2012.
