Giants WR Marshall to have season-ending ankle surgery
- New York Giants veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall has announced on his Instagram account that he is having season-ending surgery, via Josina Anderson on Twitter.
- The Marshall news followed the Giants’ earlier announcement that confirmed that Odell Beckham Jr. will miss the rest of the season with a fractured ankle suffered in Sunday’s defeat to the San Diego Chargers
- Marshall, who signed a two-year deal with the Giants in March, has participated in 77.1 percent of the Giants offensive snaps in 2017, and has been targeted on 32 occasions by quarterback Eli Manning. Marshall has a PFF WR rating (quarterback rating when a wide receiver is targeted) of 56.0, which is the lowest among the Giants wide receivers, and ranks 81st among 89 qualifying wide receivers in the league.
- Through five games Marshall has an overall grade of 49.9, the lowest mark of his career, ranking him 87th among 110 wide receivers.
