- The NC State defensive line had a strong day in their upset of Florida State and edge defender Bradley Chubb showed why he’s one of the nation’s top prospects. Coming into the season, the PFF preseason draft guide pegged Chubb as a potential Day 1 selection and he posted a career-high eight pressures (two sacks, four QB hits, two hurries) against the Seminoles.
- Chubb finished the afternoon with an excellent 91.3 game grade, moving his season grade to 88.5 overall. We recently compared Chubb to former Clemson first-round pick Shaq Lawson as Chubb is an excellent run defender (88.7 run defense grade ranks second in the nation), but slightly behind (though effective) as a pass-rusher (84.9 pass rush grade ranks ninth in the nation).
- An eight-pressure game will go a long way toward proving Chubb’s worth as a pass-rusher as he’d never had more than six pressures in a game in his career. He remains one of the most well-rounded prospects in the nation.
