Jets rookie S Adams has had a strong NFL debut

  • After two weeks of NFL action, New York Jets Jamal Adams is currently the highest-graded rookie safety, with an overall grade of 79.8. He is currently ranked 19th among 79 qualifying safeties.
  • When Adams was lined up within eight yards of the line of scrimmage last year at LSU, he ranked eighth among 40 qualifying SEC safeties with a run stop percentage of 5.2. His 10 total stops (a stop constitutes a “win” for the defense) in the run game when lined up within eight yards of the line of scrimmage tied for second-most among safeties in the SEC.
  • Adams has played 86.4 percent of his snaps within eight yards of the LOS, the most among rookie safeties and the fifth-most in the NFL.
  • His two defensive stops in the run game are the second-most among rookie safeties, only trailing Chicago Bears Eddie Jackson‘s three.
