In this week’s IDP Snap Report, there are a few teams who saw their star inside linebacker get injured weeks ago. In those cases they had a plan in place for how to replace them, but over time that plan has changed. A few recent injuries gave a few linebackers some more playing time which keeps some situations. Like every week, the Saints and Titans get some mention because they are always changing what they are doing, but one man has emerged from those teams as a great fantasy pickup heading forward.
Ernie Sims
Injuries to Sean Lee and Dan Connor for the Cowboys led to Ernie Sims joining the Dallas base defense and playing in 67% of the teams snaps. In that time Sims was able to record six tackles which included four stops. While Dan Connor is questionable to return, Sims has been playing well enough that he deserves some playing time with the defense. Neither Connor nor Sims should be trusted to be a fantasy starter at this point, but it’s a situation to watch to see who gets the playing time going forward.
