IDP Breakdown - Week 10 Edition
Home Stats Crew: Moderate-to-high volume tackles; Assist-heavy
For IFP purposes, Cleveland has been one of the least exciting teams this season. If you own Karlos Dansy and Donte Whitner, you’re starting them every week. You know that, and don’t read this column for that kind of advice. I’d also continue to ride Tashaun Gipson. His big-play upside makes him a weekly DB3. … Buster Skrine saw 11 targets last week and allowed nine catches for 136 yards and a score. From a football standpoint, that’s not good. However, poor play in coverage led to strong fantasy numbers, as Skrine put up nine total tackles (seven solo) against the Bucs. I wouldn’t count on a repeat out of Skrine, but those in CB-required leagues will want to keep him in your starting lineups as a CB2.
Like we expected, Emmanuel Lamur and Vincent Rey served as the Bengals’ every-down linebackers with Vontaze Burfict sidelined last week. Neither player posted particularly strong numbers, but that was due largely to the poor matchup against the Jags. Burfict will be out at least one more week, so Rey will continue to be a three-down option. Those in a pinch at linebacker could certainly rely on Rey as an LB3 this week. … Carlos Dunlap posted a sack on five QB pressures against the Jags. He remains a near-elite fantasy option.
