In each column, we start our weekly breakdown by looking at the optimal daily fantasy stacks we suggested the week before. In Week 6, our stacks took a big hit. We missed on the Giants stack and the Saints stack. To be fair, we avoided the Saints stack for the purpose of staying contrarian, but there’s no excuse for missing Odell Beckham Jr. vs. a beat-up secondary. The Russell Wilson stack was vultured by Christine Michael and bad weather. As for the Carson Palmer stack vs. an atrocious Jets secondary — well, I don’t want to talk about that one. To be fair, Week 6 was our first total dud. You can look back at past weeks by clicking my name in the bio. But for now, let’s jump right into Week 7 stacks.
DraftKings
Derek Carr, QB; Amari Cooper, WR (Raiders vs. Jaguars)
DraftKings is generally more reactionary than FanDuel and less matchup-based in their pricing. That’s a great lesson to know for every week you play in DFS, but it’s also applicable for us in Week 7. Carr had a poor Week 6 showing and now he is only moderately priced in Week 7 in spite of what looks on paper to be an excellent matchup. Carr is just the 10th-most-expensive quarterback on DraftKings this week despite the fact that he’s been held under 20 fantasy points only in matchups against the Chiefs and Titans this season.
