Welcome to the Wild Card edition of Snaps, Pace, & Stats, where we examine trends in snap totals and no-huddle usage. It is meant to be a 30,000-foot view of upcoming games, with the goal of identifying which matchups will – and which will not – be played on fertile fantasy soil.
(For brevity’s sake, all references to pass or run rates/percentages are in terms of neutral game situations. Unless otherwise stated, we will reference one-score situations (plus/minus seven points) to get a truer representation of game plan.)

Tennessee Titans at Kansas City Chiefs
The slow-paced Titans average the fourth-fewest plays (60.9) and score the 18th-most points per snap. They dabbled in some no-huddle during Week 15 (36 percent) and Week 16 (15 percent), but scrapped it entirely in the season finale. Even with their late-season tempo toe-dipping, Tennessee operates at the sixth-slowest seconds-per-snap pace. They deploy the ninth-most run-heavy offense (46 percent), and have handed off even more during the last month. The Titans should have just enough success against Kansas City’s 24th-graded run defense to be a drain on the game’s overall play volume, but this offense is neither explosive nor efficient.
