We’re into Week 9 of the 2018 NFL season, and now it’s time to identify our top fantasy football bargains for DFS players this week.
Finding bargains and values in DFS is the key to any winning roster, both in cash games and tournaments. Our goal today is to find you the best bargains for your cash games and tournaments. We will specify what games to use each bargain in and how to capitalize on them in each given week.
High ownership is to be expected from some of these bargains, and we will touch in that in the writeup, so they should be used in cash games. However, some of these players are also excellent buys for tournaments and won’t have high ownership percentages. Generally speaking, quarterback is the one position where ownership tends to be spread out the most — in other words feel free using these bargains both in tournaments and cash games.
Philip Rivers, QB, Los Angeles Chargers
Rivers is the most expensive option we’ll highlight on our “bargains” list, but we just couldn’t leave him off after seeing him priced as a QB2 on DK. The Seahawks are not the ideal matchup, but Rivers has scored more than 22 fantasy points (on DK) in all but two games this season and has proven matchup-proof. Rivers also provides a nice contrarian pivot for your roster while others will target Cam Newton in the slate’s best matchup or a cheaper option.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Fitzpatrick’s first start back doesn’t include a dream matchup, but the Panthers secondary can be the crux of their pass defense on any given day. We saw Eli Manning throw for 323 passing yards against Carolina just a few weeks ago. Fitzpatrick is priced in the QB2 range this week despite nearly scoring 20 fantasy points in one half of football last week.
