2018 Fantasy Football Rankings: IDP tiers
If you haven’t used tiers in your rankings before on draft day, then it’s time to reconsider your methodology when getting ready for a new fantasy season. When you start ranking fantasy players by position into tiers you get a richer draft board that helps you make those tough decisions by highlighting a player’s value against his peers at a glance.
All week, we’ve been breaking down our rankings into tiers. Jeff Ratcliffe divided up his 2018 rankings, while Curtis Patrick did the same for dynasty. Now it’s my turn. Below, you’ll find a full set of IDP tiered rankings for 2018, visiting all three positions. This should be a big help come draft day when trying to find gaps in value that rankings don’t provide.
At the top of the somewhat shallow defensive lineman pool sit three names, and there is daylight between them and the rest of the pack. It would be a bigger shock if one of Bosa, Watt, or Mack didn’t post double-digit sacks than if one of them topped 20, which highlights their high fantasy ceilings. What really marks them apart from their peers is that all three can post 70-plus total tackles in a single season, and in leagues that also reward tackles for loss they further separate from mere mortal defensive lineman.
