Conference USA’s East Division is not exactly loaded top-to-bottom, but is far from lacking in outstanding options. Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky headline the conference with a variety of notable skill-position studs. (For the rest of our college fantasy preview so far, check here.)
Charlotte 49ers
It’s important to remember that, while Charlotte will enter its second season as a member of the FBS in 2016, it is also only the school’s fourth with an actual football program. Last season started well with a pair of victories, but they lost all of their last nine. A combined 83 percent of offensive and defensive snaps will return from 2015, second-most in the country, but that offense finished at the bottom of most FBS categories. The quarterback position was a complete disaster, but the addition of 6’3, 220-pound JUCO transfer Kevin Olsen, brother of Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen, could be helpful. Unfortunately, Olsen is not a scrambling quarterback and was not very productive at Riverside CC.
