- The Green Bay Packers have a history of finding gems along the offensive line in Day 3 of the draft, with home-run fourth-round picks like T.J. Lang, Josh Sitton, and David Bakhtiari in their past.
- The 2017 draft class is not loaded along the offensive line, but there are still plenty of athletic prospects with high upside that could entice Ted Thompson in the later rounds.
- UCLA offensive tackle Conor McDermott is a tall and athletic prospect who would be the perfect fit in the Packers’ zone-running game. He needs to refine his pass-blocking technique quite a bit, but he’d be a perfect tackle to take in the fourth round and let him learn.
- On the interior, Hawai’i’s Leo Koloamatangi could be a sleeper in the fifth or sixth round who can provide depth at center or guard with a lot of potential. Despite moving around the line all season, he allowed only one sack and six hurries in 2016, and his movement skills fit what Green Bay typically looks for on the inside.
- Vanderbilt’s Will Holden would be a solid sixth- or seventh-round developmental project for the Packers’ offensive line. He played both left and right tackle for the Commodores, but Green Bay likes to convert prospects like him into guards at the next level, especially the way he struggled pass-blocking on the outside in college.
