Another regular season is in the books, so this weeks 32 Observations will jump straight into looking at those year-end numbers. You probably already know Peyton Manning led the league in passing yards, LeSean McCoy in rushing yards and Josh Gordon in receiving yards. What you might not know is who led the league in various PFF signature statistics. In fact, all 32 teams had a player who led the league in something this year. Here are 32 league leaders, what they led the league in, and in some cases just how impressive their season was.
AFC East
Buffalo Bills: Running back C.J. Spiller led the league in Breakaway Percentage at 43.9%. He had 11 carries for 15 or more yards that went for a total of 408 yards.
Miami Dolphins: Safety Chris Clemons led all safeties in Yards per Coverage Snap at 0.20. He allowed just 11 catches for 127 yards on 624 plays in coverage.
New England Patriots: Inside linebacker Brandon Spikes led all middle/inside linebackers in Tackling Efficiency at 22.5. He missed a total of four tackles on the year compared to 69 made tackles and 17 assists.
New York Jets: Nose tackle Damon Harrison led all defensive/nose tackles in Run Stop Percentage at 13.2%. That is the best for a defensive/nose tackle over the last six years.
AFC North
Baltimore Ravens: Outside Linebacker Terrell Suggs led all 3-4 outside linebackers in Run Stop Percentage at 11.3%. His 38 run stops were seven more than any other 3-4 outside linebacker.
Cincinnati Bengals: Wide receiver A.J. Green led the league in Deep Passing Yards at 586. He also led the league in Deep Passing Touchdowns at eight. He did this all on just 15 catches.
Cleveland Browns: Tight end Gary Barnidge led all tight ends in Pass Blocking Efficiency at 97.8%. He stayed in to block on 174 pass plays which was 50 more than any other tight end, and only allowed five pressures.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Outside linebacker Jason Worilds led all 3-4 outside linebackers in hits at 21. Twenty of them came when pass rushing from the left side. No other 3-4 outside linebacker has double digit hit numbers when rushing from the left.
AFC South
Houston Texans: Defensive end J.J. Watt led all 3-4 defensive ends in Run Stop Percentage at 13.7%. He has finished in the top two every year he has been in the league. He also led the league in Pass Rushing Productivity for 3-4 defensive ends at 12.7. He had the most total pressures at the position at 84, and had more than twice as many hits as any other 3-4 defensive end at 35.
Indianapolis Colts: Tight end Coby Fleener led all tight ends in Drop Rate at 1.89. He dropped just one pass compared to the 52 caught.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Running back Maurice Jones-Drew led the league in Pass Blocking Efficiency for backs at 100.0. He did not allow a single pressure this year on his 112 pass blocks. He has not allowed a pressure since Week 6 of the 2011 season.
Tennessee Titans: Wide receiver Kendall Wright led the league in receiving yards when lining up as a slot receiver at 700. He had 63 receptions from the slot and had two touchdowns.
AFC West
Denver Broncos: Right tackle Orlando Franklin led all tackles in Pass Blocking Efficiency at 97.0.
Kansas City Chiefs: Outside linebacker Tamba Hali led all 3-4 outside linebackers in total pressure at 77.
Oakland Raiders: Defensive end Lamarr Houston led all 4-3 defensive ends in Run Stop Percentage at 10.3%.
San Diego Chargers: Quarterback Philip Rivers led the league in Accuracy Percentage at 79.0%
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys: Left tackle Tyron Smith led all offensive tackles in fewest sacks allowed at one.
New York Giants: Safety Ryan Mundy led all safeties in Tackling Efficiency in the pass game by not missing a single tackle on passes compared to 22 made tackles and five assists.
Philadelphia Eagles: Quarterback Nick Foles led the league in Accuracy Percentage under pressure at 69.4%.
Washington Redskins: Safety Reed Doughty led all safeties in Run Stop Percentage at 9.1%, which was a full percentage point higher than any other safety.
NFC North
Chicago Bears: Tight end Martellus Bennett led all tight ends in players missing tackles on them at 23. That was seven more than any other tight end.
Detroit Lions: Wide receiver Calvin Johnson led the league in Yards Per Route Run at 2.72. He had 1,489 yards receiving on 547 routes run.
Green Bay Packers: Left guard Josh Sitton led all guards in Pass Blocking Efficiency at 99.0. This was the best for a guard over the last six years, and his fourth straight year ranking in the top five.
Minnesota Vikings: Running back Adrian Peterson led the league in Elusive Rating at 64.6. He had an average of 2.97 yards after contact per attempt, and a total of 67 players missed tackles on him.
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons: Tight end Tony Gonzalez had the most yards for all tight ends when lining up in the slot. He had 672 yards on 58 catches. He had ten more catches than any other tight end from the slot.
Carolina Panthers: Running back DeAngelo Williams led all running backs in yards after the catch per catch at 15.1. He had a total of 392 yard after the catch on 26 catches.
New Orleans Saints: Quarterback Drew Brees led the league in Deep Passing touchdown at 15. He only had 29 deep completions, so over half of his deep completions were for touchdowns.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy led all defensive/nose tackle in Pass Rushing Productivity at 11.0. He also led all defensive/nose tackles in hits at 14, hurries at 55 and total pressures at 79.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals: Wide Receiver Larry Fitzgerald led the league in Drop Rate at 1.20. He had just one drop compared to 82 catches.
St. Louis Rams: Defensive end Robert Quinn led all 4-3 defensive ends in both pressure at 91 and Pass Rushing Productivity at 15.3. These were both the best for 4-3 defensive ends in the last six years.
San Francisco 49ers: Wide Receiver Anquan Boldin led the league in Yards Per Route Run from the slot at 2.83.
Seattle Seahawks: Quarterback Russell Wilson led the league in Deep Passing Accuracy Percentage at 48.3%
