2012 Pass/Run Rate Splits

With the 2012-13 NFL season now completely in the books, I went back and took a look at each team's pass/run splits. In the chart below, you'll see four percentages for each team. They indicate how often the team listed called a pass play. The team's ranking, relative to the rest of the league, is shown as well.

The overall drop back rate for each team is shown first. As you move to the right, you'll see which team's call pass the most/least often when ahead, behind, or in a tie game.

For example, the 2012 Cowboys called a pass play 72 percent of the time when behind on the scoreboard, which is the league's third-highest mark.
