Live Camp Tour: AFC North

Manziel4Leg one of the 2014 NFL Training Camp Tour involved three AFC North teams. We started in Cincinnati with the defending division champion Bengals before heading to Cleveland for Manziel Mania followed by a soggy Steeler practice.

Almost immediately after arriving on the Riverfront in Cincy Giovani Bernard and rookie Jeremy Hill were lining up together in the backfield. BenJarvis Green-Ellis is a non-factor at the moment. It was evident throughout the day that Bernard will be a featured player in this offense.

He was used in the traditional tailback role of course but also lined up in the pistol and moved all around different formations carrying and catching the football. The Bengals even worked in a little zone read although I don’t think you’ll see Andy Dalton on designed runs much this season.

I expect Cincinnati to pound the football under Hue Jackson which is why they drafted Hill. Bernard also looked very solid and strong in person and in my opinion could handle a fairly heavy workload with ease.
