Grades for Colts-Eagles

Here are the top takeaways and graded players from Sunday night’s Colts-Eagles game:

Colts

–It was an up-and-down game for first-round rookie WR Phillip Dorsett, whose 41 snaps were the third-most of any Colts offensive player. He was targeted eight times and caught four balls for 51 yards, but had a costly fumble at the start of the second quarter.

–Defensive line is a question mark for the Colts this year, but the second-stringers more than held their own against the Eagles’ difficult attack. Earl Okine, Henry Anderson, David Parry, and Kelce Quarles all graded at +1.9 or higher.

–Hugh Thornton has been a work in progress his first two seasons in the NFL, but a few more performances like this and the former third-round pick could be back in the starting lineup. He didn’t allow a pressure in 25 pass-blocking snaps.

Top 5 graded players:

David Parry (+4.3)

Earl Okine (+3.8)

Hugh Thornton (+2.8)

Bjoern Werner (+2.8)

Henry Anderson (+1.9)

Eagles:

–Without Sam Bradford, the Eagles turned to Mark Sanchez as their starter, and even though he manufactured one score in his two drives he finished with a -.9 grade and multiple off-target throws.

–First-rounder Nelson Agholor had a similarly up-and-down game to Dorsett. He flashed early with a superb 34-yard catch and run for the Eagles first score, but followed it up with an ugly drop at 12:02 in the second quarter.

–Guard John Moffitt was as rusty as one would expect after taking a year off of football. The former third-round pick finished with a -3.5 overall grade and yielded three pressures on the day.

Top 5 graded players:

Ed Reynolds (+5.3)

Bryan Braman (+4.0)

Eric Tomlinson (+2.5)

E.J. Biggers (+2.6)

Diaheem Watkins (+2.1)
