Gaming the Game – Week 6 DFS Strategy

Matt ForteWith the first Millionaire Maker of the season a resounding success over at DraftKings, it’s awesome that they went ahead and put another one on the table for Week 6.

I’m of the opinion that they will continue to offer these huge games every week if this week’s fills…and I believe it will. Michael Rathburn claims that 25% of the lineups were single entries. That’s awesome. Many of those were likely new players lured in through TV or ubiquitous internet ads by the promise of turning a skill they possess into a million dollars. Weren’t we all?

While some of those will likely be turned off by not cashing, I’ve heard that a significant amount of cashing lineups were from users with fewer than 3 entries (I believe this data will be released at some point). Even if you entered this tournament for the first DFS experience of your life, the chance to do it again, with the experience under your belt might be too good to pass up.

I guess that about 80% of single entry, new players will be playing again. I also guess that increased advertising, now claiming to have made a new millionaire in Week 5 will draw in yet more new players to the tournament. Experienced DFSers won’t balk at putting in a similar number of entries as in Week 5, except perhaps markgenorex, who only had 2/1200+ finish in the top 100.
