Week 1 DFS Locks of the Week: Get Marvin Jones into your lineups

The NFL regular season is here, and with it the first week of DFS. Each week, I’ll be offering my DFS Locks of the Week. These aren’t just the studs; rather, it’s the mid-level guys who have the right situations in a given week to be in every DFS lineup.

I’ll be offering at least two quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers each week, and then one tight end. These are players who are veritable locks to give you a solid return on investment. For these purposes, the cheaper the better—but not so cheap as to leave anything to chance, as these truly are my locks. This is tailored for DFS, but of course, a player who is a DFS lock should also be in your weekly lineups as well.

Read which players are here. And insert those players into your lineups.

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (vs. Colts)

I stated my concerns with Stafford before the season began, but if there is one thing that he does well, it’s perform against bad competition. In Week 1, he has arguably the best matchup in all of football when the Lions go on the road to play against the Colts.

In the last two seasons, when Stafford has played against the top-16 and bottom-16 pass defenses, the numbers speak for themselves.

Pass Comp Pass Att Pass Yds Pass TD Pass INT Fantasy Pts
Bottom 16 24.4 37.6 292.8 1.94 0.71 24.3
Top 16 18.3 37.0 235.3 1.40 0.87 18.3

Hey all. Fantasy Gold and DFS Pro are separate products this year. You’ll need a subscription to DFS Pro to read our DFS-specific content, or you can get everything with an All-Access subscription.

“fantasy gold” seems like it should have everything in the lesser tiers included in it (unless there was a fantasy platinum tier).. Its not easy to distinguish what exactly is provided with each specific package. the site should really do a better job of making clear what is being provided -and also not being provided- with each content package. Fact is, this is an article about good plays for the week and to classify it as a “DFS only” article is pretty ridiculous. Especially when the intro paragraph in the article itself says, “This is tailored for DFS, but of course, a player who is a DFS lock should also be in your weekly lineups as well” ..fantasy gold? more like fantasy misleading rhetoric. feeling swindled..

Very disappointed in the updated offering this year. Would there be a way to switch the subscription from fantasy gold to dfs?
The fantasy gold implied interactive draft, but it was not interactive at all! And GM does NOT import your league rosters, I have to do it manually, and only for my team???
