Fantasy Points Per Snap — Week 9

Anyone who follows fantasy football knows Redskins rookie Robert Griffin III leads all quarterbacks — and all fantasy players in general — in scoring. Congrats to those of you who drafted him, because wherever you got him it was a terrific value.

Pro Football Focus’ signature stats, available to Fantasy Gold members, paint a fuller picture. They tell us how RGIII’s season compares to Cam Newton’s monster 2011  and offer evidence as to whether RGIII will avoid Newton’s sophomore plunge. They also show how RGIII’s performance stacks up among fantasy’s all-time great seasons.

In the chart below, you’ll see RGIII is playing on a different level than every other QB. He’s averaging 0.69 points per drop back, light years ahead of second-place Peyton Manning. Manning and the rest of the Top 10 are bunched between 0.55 and 0.49.
