CFB DFS picks to give you an edge in Week 2

It’s important to remember what we saw last week was only one very early week of the College football season and, while we saw some impressive performances across the country, we can’t expect repeat performances week in and week out. Instead of focusing on individual player stats, I look at team tendencies early on to get an idea of how coaches will run offenses.

I also look at defensive stats, as poor play early on in the season tends to linger more than a four-touchdown performance from a quarterback. Seeing Josh Rosen go off against what we thought was an impressive Virginia team told me more about Virginia’s defense than it did about  Rosen or UCLA’s offense.

I am still looking for experience in my quarterback picks  for week two, despite strong performances from underclassmen like Rosen and Patrick Mahomes. In fact, of the top 25 leading passers from week one, 17 were either juniors or seniors. Likewise, the top 12 receiving leaders last week were all upperclassmen. While there are some talented young receivers in football, I think experience route running and playing time do much more for receivers in college football running backs.
