Bills:D delivers in Denver, Orton does not

PFF-headlinesThrough 14 weeks of regular season play, the Buffalo Bills are the only team to go into Denver and leave with positive cumulative PFF grade on defense.

In fact the Bills made Peyton Manning’s offense look rather pedestrian, holding him to just 14 completions to go with 173 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns.  They were also able to hold C.J. Anderson mostlyh in check for 58 yards on 21 carries.

Despite a strong showing from the defense though, Kyle Orton and the rest of the offense weren’t able to do enough on their side of the ball for the Bills to leave with a victory.

Orton’s -8.3 overall grade was ranked last among quarterbacks for the week by a significant margin, and involved a slew of inaccurate throws, two interceptions and two others that should have been intercepted.

Since the Bills bye in Week 9, Orton’s production has been sliding.  Over the past six weeks, his -18.5 passing grade stands in stark contrast to the +0.6 earned in the four games prior.
