Anquan Boldin great DFS value in Week 6

Well folks, yet again, last week’s picks did very well. Dion Lewis scored 23 fantasy points in PPR. Todd Gurley rushed for 159 yards. Willie Snead grabbed six receptions for 141 yards. James Jones caught two of his three targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. And, having the lowest possible price on DraftKings ($2500), Derek Carrier finished as a top-10 tight end for the week with 11 fantasy points in PPR—which was also Rob Gronkowski’s score.

That’s pretty good for a bunch of cheap and very-cheap players! If you rostered a combination of them, you certainly finished in good shape. If you played them with the right high-priced superstars, your stars-and-scrubs strategy likely put you near the top of the GPP leader boards. In a nutshell, they were some of the most valuable players of the week.

After sorting through this week’s price sheets, I’ve found a lot of valuable players for your Week 6 rosters. As I do every week, I used my prediction models—which I’ve written about in the past—to find the players with the most value at each position on all three major DFS sites. I also accounted for injuries and matchups when I made my picks.

Most of the well-known fantasy studs and superstars have been excluded. Even though I think many of them have a lot of value this week, I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why. Some of those excluded stars include: Tom Brady (FanDuel), Larry Fitzgerald (all sites), Arian Foster (all sites), Matt Forte (FanDuel, DraftKings), Rob Gronkowski (FanDuel), and Tyler Eifert (FanDuel).

Now, lets dive into some of my most value picks for Week 6. I’ve included many of the players’ projected floor and ceiling scores (PPR). They give us clear indication of who has good GPP potential (high ceiling), and who should be used primarily in cash games (high floor). The prices listed below each player are the ones I consider to be a good values this week.

Colin Kaepernick (GPP) vs Baltimore Ravens

Kaepernick has been inconsistent this season to say the least. He passed for two touchdowns in two separate games, and had zero in the rest. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is 4:5 this season. He is currently 17th among quarterbacks for fantasy points this season.

A lot of his struggles have occurred when he faces defensive pressure. Since becoming the starter in San Francisco, his quarterback rating has been 40 points lower when he is under pressure. Through Week 5, he is third among quarterbacks for sacks (19). His completion percentage is an abysmal 41.9 percent when under pressure.

Luckily for him, the Ravens defense is rated 25th in the league in pass rush (-2.6). They’ve allowed 298 passing yards per game to opposing offenses this season. In their last three games, they’ve given up 1,191 passing yards and 11 total touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. So, despite Kaepernick’s inconsistency this season, he is a great play this week against the Ravens. His floor is nine points and his ceiling is 33. He is a nice GPP value play this week.
