Week 15 Football Fun Facts

Barry Church tackleLast week we talked about whether you could continue to stream top sack artists against Washington due to their quarterback change. With Robert Griffin III under center this was a sound strategy as he averaged just under three sacks a game taken. When Kirk Cousins was announced as the starter for the remainder of the season, we figured that we would see less scrambling into sacks from the Washington quarterbacks going forward. So the normal inclination, to get Atlanta DE Osi Umenyiora into the lineup for Week 15, may not have been sound strategy. Sure enough, Cousins only took one sack so we may be right about the streaming aspect.

However If you played Umenyiora, you still got a decent fantasy game from him. Umenyiora was credited with that one sack, as well as two solo tackles and a forced fumble. He generally played a good game, grading out in the green (+1.4) and finishing with two stops and two hurries. But an interesting thing took place on Sunday in Atlanta.
