To qualify as a “sleeper”, a player must be owned in no more than 20% of public leagues on ESPN Fantasy Football and Yahoo Fantasy Football. These are guys who could see some work and might be useful in deeper leagues if you’re thin at a certain position or need some bye-week help. Here’s this week’s list:
Quarterback
John Skelton, Arizona Cardinals (3% ESPN, 4% Yahoo)
Another sleepers list, another John Skelton sighting. Although nothing about his play stands out as overly impressive, in fantasy football – opportunity breeds success. Going on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons is no easy task, but playing from behind is a winning formula when it comes to fantasy QBs.
Skelton has 105 drop backs and 596 passing yards in his last two games, and despite suspect o-line play (sixth in Pressure% among top 75% of QBs, dropback-wise), Skelton has a higher completion percentage when under pressure (45.3%) than Matthew Stafford (44.3%) and Tom Brady (43.2%). Skelton also has a higher Accuracy% when under pressure (63%) than Eli Manning (62.8%), Stafford (59.4%) and Brady (57.8%). He will be facing an Atlanta defense that is in the bottom-half of the league in passing YPG allowed, as well as total YPG allowed. They are also ranked 24th in opponent third-down conversion percentage (40.95%). Having a guy named Larry Fitzgerald playing wide receiver never hurts either.
Wide Receivers
T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts (4% ESPN, 20% Yahoo)
