VIDEO: Causes of Andrew Luck’s early-season struggles

Through three weeks of the season, Andrew Luck is one of our lowest graded quarterbacks. Pro Football Focus’ Cris Collinsworth examines the causes behind the Indianapolis QB’s rough start to 2015.

Think Luck will bounce back? Or are the Colts in trouble long-term? Let us know on Twitter.

The first thing Luck needs to do is get rid of that wrist band. Your not going to inspire your offensive teammates in the huddle if you have to keep checking your wrist notes to see what plays to run.

Just like how Tom Brady cant inspire his team while doing the same thing?

      • crosseyedlemon

First off you can’t compare a player with Luck’s experience to a guy who has championship rings. Secondly the notes Brady keeps on his wrist are more likely to be ways to torment Roger Goodell than actual offensive plays.

          1. It doesnt matter, and I partially think you were joking anyway so I went with sarcasm. The team already respects the hell out of Luck, just wish Grigson would show some and attempt to build a line.
          2. Lol touche.

those save playclock time by allowing the coordinator to simply say one word, and it’s esp helpful on the road in loud environments or when the helmet radio comm system goes down in foxborough

Being old school I naturally hate those wrist reminders and would like to see them banned. From my perspective a guy getting paid a salary equal to the GNP of some third world country should be able to remember the plays without some damn wrist aid.

        • https://twitter.com/MALACHiOFCOURSE Malachi

he remembers them just fine, it’s about communication efficiency in hostile environments

          • crosseyedlemon

Hostile environment huh? The QB is in a huddle with team mates when he checks his wrist for the play.
It’s actually somewhat surprising that Roger Goodell who is obsessed with the league’s image and public perception allows the things. To a person watching an NFL game for the first time a QB with a wrist aid looks like either an amateur, a simpleton or someone who just wandered in from the CFL. They start to wonder if maybe the QB doesn’t also have little reminders posted in the locker room reminding him how to use a shower or tie his shoes.
