Training Camp Buzz: NFC East Offensive Changes

lesean-mccoy-eaglesWith most training camps wrapping up their first week of practices, quotes from coaches and players and beat writer reports are starting to flow in. In fantasy football, it’s our job to recognize that some things need to be taken with a grain of salt. As a general rule, I tend to dismiss positive comments from player X about teammate Y’s performance. Players don’t earn any fantasy points in practice, and in many cases camp standouts have trouble translating their production to game situation.

If player X wants to talk about teammate Y’s role, I’m all for it. Training camps provide us with an opportunity to observe changes in offensive schemes and play-calling. They also help to clear up a player’s role within the offense and standing on the depth chart. If you focus on these things, you can take a lot away from this period. In this piece, we’ll take a look at some of these happening through the first week of camp in the NFC East.
