This week, I want to reinforce my stance in my previous articles around buyer’s remorse and early season panic, especially coming off of such a calamitous week 2. It was unprecedented the number of injuries and off-field suspensions we’ve seen in just the last seven days. Typically, by week 3 teams are getting a sense of what the new reality is for their team and generally feeling less worried (save for a few 0-2 teams). But this year there is plenty more to cause worry, so as an astute trader, you need to continue to attack your opponents’ weak spots.
For instance, the value of a running back handcuff may never be greater than it is right now. Guys like Knile Davis, Bobby Rainey and Matt Asiata are the hot waiver wire acquisitions, but that doesn’t mean owners of healthy running backs aren’t also considering insurance for their bell cow. Running back was already deemed woefully thin before the season, so things are getting pretty dicey for fantasy owners this early in the year.
