Top 10 Performances, Week 2

Top-Perf-WK02It’s not about stats or highlight plays it’s about what you did to help your team win. The quality of the opposition certainly plays a part as does the amount of help from teammates.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so if your guy is missing tell us about it in the comments below.

Updated during and after A22 review

1.  Sammy Watkins (BUF) +3.6

When the running game is not working and the opposition’s defense is of the superior variety someone needs to step up. Why not the rookie?

Key Stat – Accounted for 58% of the passing offense at a ridiculous, league leading, 4.88 Yards per Route Run.

2.  Calais Campbell (ARZ) +5.7

At times it felt like he was a one man defense so many times was his name called.

Key stat – While playing all bar five snaps he made eight tackles; every one considered a defeat for the offense.

3.  Leon Hall (CIN) +4.1

Skin tight coverage on anyone that came into his area. How pleased are the Bengals to have him back in this sort of form.

Key Stat – Allowed only 31 yards and a 30.7 passer rating into his coverage.

4.  Chandler Jones (NE) +8.9

Showed exactly why his previous shoe-horning into a 5-technique role was flawed.

Key stat – Made life miserable for Matt Kalil with two sacks and five QB hurries.

5. & 6.  Philip Rivers (SD) & Antonio Gates (SD) +4.0 & +2.4

Difficult to divorce the two as they made the best secondary in football look average.

Key Stat – When throwing at Gates, Rivers had a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

7.  Mike Daniels (GB) +5.1

Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson will get the ink but Daniels was the star on defense.

Key Stat – Four QB disruptions and four stops in run defense shows a real two-dimensional skill-set

8.  Joe Barksdale (STL) +4.5

I feared when the Rams drafted Greg Robinson Barksdale would ride the bench – thankfully not.

Key stat – Perfect in pass pro the Rams also generated 5.0 yards per carry on the right side of the line.

9.  DeMeco Ryans (PHI) +4.2

An active day for Ryans who was a chief tormentor of the Colts offense with his attacking of the line of scrimmage.

Key stat – Allowed just one reception into his coverage while picking up seven tackles in the run game.

10.  Tyrone Crawford (DAL) +5.7

A six quarterback disruption day for Crawford who is doing his best to show the Dallas D will be better than anyone expected.

Key stat – Pass rushing productivity score of 20.5 was best of all 4-3 defensive ends in Week 2.
