Thursday Night Preview - Week 4

Colin+Kaepernick+San+Francisco+49ers+v+St+2BcH4VEXSW6lThursday Night Football has been a mixed bag so far this season. We were treated to thrilling matchups Week 1 and 3, between the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively. But you definitely can’t forget about the Week 2 dud between division rivals, the New England Patriots and New York Jets, as well.

Week 4 brings us our second Thursday night division rivalry game, this time between the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams. Both team limps into this game on short rest and struggling heavily, with matching 1-2 records. It’s safe to say that this will be a close game, despite preconceived notions that San Francisco is clearly and easily the better team here. Last season in the two matchups between these two teams, they tied 24-24 in Colin Kaepernick’s first appearance for the 49ers and a month later the Rams managed a last-second field goal to win 16-13.

This is a must-win game for both teams, as they look to rise to .500 on the season and more importantly, keep from falling further behind the Seattle Seahawks for the division. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at a couple key factors that will likely decide the outcome of this game.
