Now that we’re almost through the bye weeks, it’s the time that savvy owners cut depth players that you probably won’t need and add high-upside guys to rosters. The highest upside players still available in most leagues are running back handcuffs. The questions is how to identify which handcuff are mostly to be successful if thrusted into the starting lineup.

Last week we introduced success rate: a way of measuring how consistently a running back gains yardage at-or-above the league-median based on down and distance. This week, I’m using success rate in conjunction with traditional yards-per-carry (YPC) to find the best handcuffs to add to your roster for the stretch run.
